[Analysis: G7's 'Epic' Oil Reserve Release May Not Solve the Oil Crisis] BlockBeats News, March 15, The Kobeissi Letter, citing data from JPMorgan, pointed out that the coordinated release of strategic oil reserves by the G7 can only deliver about 1.2 million barrels of oil per day. Historically, the peak emergency release volume was approximately 1.4 million barrels per day. However, given the ongoing modernization of oil fields and lower inventory levels, the operational flexibility of U.S. oil reserves may be below the 1 million barrels per day level seen in 2022. Meanwhile, due to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, approximately 16 million barrels of crude oil are stranded in the Persian Gulf daily. A release of 1.2 million barrels per day can only cover 7.5% of the 16 million barrels shortfall. Analysts pointed out that emergency reserves can only buy time but cannot compensate for the lost supply or resolve supply bottlenecks.
