[Vitalik: Suggests Reassessing Ethereum Beacon Chain and Execution Client Separation Architecture to Simplify Node Operation Complexity]
Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 15: Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin posted on the X platform, stating that an open-minded reevaluation of the current separation design between the Beacon Chain (consensus layer) and the execution client is necessary. He pointed out that running two daemons and enabling their communication is far more challenging than a single process, adding unnecessary complexity for users running self-hosted nodes. Ethereum's goal is to provide a good self-hosting user experience, which often requires running one's own node, but the existing architecture hinders this goal. In the short term, more standardized foundational packaging tools can be adopted, allowing users to easily install Docker images of different clients and achieve seamless communication. In the long term, as streamlined consensus solutions mature, the overall architecture design can be reassessed.
