The 'dark pool' of traditional finance just completed its first transaction on Ethereum. Market maker GSR and privacy computing company @Zama used Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) technology to execute the first fully private Over-The-Counter (OTC) trade on Ethereum mainnet. Sounds technical? In plain language: both parties in the trade know who each other are (compliant with KYC), but the details of the trade—what crypto was traded, how much, and at what price—are completely unknown to the rest of the world (including Ethereum itself).
