[The European Commission states that Platform X has submitted a rectification plan for 'Blue Check Certification'; X was previously fined €120 million by the EU]
BlockBeats News, March 13 – Thomas Reynier, spokesperson for digital economy affairs at the European Commission, stated at a press conference on the 13th that the social media platform X, owned by American entrepreneur Musk, has submitted a rectification plan to the European Commission regarding its 'Blue Check Certification.'
In December 2025, the European Commission issued its first 'non-compliance decision' under the Digital Services Act, fining Platform X €120 million. The EU accused X of allowing 'Blue Check Certification' to be obtained solely through payment, which was misleading to users in terms of interface design. Additionally, X's advertising database was found to be non-compliant in terms of transparency and accessibility, and X failed to provide access to public platform data for eligible researchers as required.
