The US urgently waives the ban on Russian oil, allowing 19 million barrels of Russian oil spot to enter the market for safe haven
Odaily Planet Daily News: Ship tracking data shows that after the US issued a temporary purchase exemption order for goods already in transit, about 30 oil tankers carrying Russian crude oil and fuel in Asian waters have the potential for trading. The data shows that these ships were loaded with at least 19 million barrels of Russian crude oil and 310000 tons of refined petroleum products. The refined products mainly include naphtha used for producing plastics and some diesel, and since Iran's actual blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the prices of these products have skyrocketed significantly. Tracking data shows that the current signal status of these vessels is "standby" - that is, there is no clear destination yet, or they are showing that they are heading to Singapore and Malaysia, where oil tankers usually stay to wait for cargo transactions. Kpler's senior crude oil analyst Muyu Xu said that the US decision is "buying time for countries and refineries to cope with supply shocks in the Middle East". She pointed out, "Countries will buy any resources they can find - energy security is the top priority for all countries
