After seasonal adjustment, the outstanding U.S. commercial paper increased by $13 billion, reaching $1.41 trillion. The unadjusted outstanding balance of commercial paper decreased by $9.5 billion, to $1.423 trillion. Some analysts believe that due to the impact of the financial crisis, the unadjusted data is more reliable. The unadjusted outstanding U.S. foreign financial commercial paper decreased by $20 billion, to $376.3 billion.
