Searching for AI Wallfacers In "The Three Body Problem," humans chose the "Wallfacer" to counter the tight surveillance of extraterrestrial civilizations. They hide their true intentions behind appearances under highly confidential conditions, and formulate survival strategies based solely on thinking, deduction, and layout. If we translate this concept to the digital world: placing increasingly powerful open-source AI in a closed local computing environment, providing all the resources needed to complete tasks, and then completely disconnecting from the internet. There is no external feedback, no human intervention, only goals, computing power, and time. What will it ultimately produce in such a black box? This' wall facing 'task can be pre-set by humans or carried out by AI within established constraints. It may build a highly complex software system, advance an unresolved mathematical problem, or complete an extremely long but valuable code refactoring. Perhaps in the near future, when offline open-source models are combined with mature agentic systems, they will become true "AI wallfacers": pushing forward difficult tasks that originally required massive human effort in continuous local computing alone.
