**[CertiK Report: Cryptocurrency ATM Scams to Reach $330 Million in Losses by 2025, AI Technology Accelerates Crime Escalation]** Odaily Planet Daily News – During the DC Blockchain Summit in the United States, Web3 security company CertiK released the "Skynet Cryptocurrency ATM Fraud Report." The report reveals that losses from such scams are projected to reach $330 million by 2025, representing a year-on-year growth of approximately 33%, making it one of the fastest-growing financial crime categories in the U.S. Currently, there are approximately 45,000 cryptocurrency ATMs worldwide, with 78% located in the United States. The report highlights that scam groups are leveraging technologies such as AI voice cloning and deepfake techniques to upgrade their methods. By 2025, the profitability of AI-driven scams is estimated to be 4.5 times higher than that of traditional methods. Data shows that 86% of total losses from such fraud in the U.S. in 2025 will come from individuals aged 60 and above, making elderly people the primary targets of ATM scams. Additionally, criminal networks are employing a "divide and conquer" strategy, inducing numerous small transactions to evade regulatory scrutiny. CertiK warns that the reported losses are merely the tip of the iceberg, and the industrialized operations of transnational crime organizations will continue to escalate the threat.
