Many elderly people in rural areas, if they do not have children who can earn money to support their retirement, they either dig in the fields, work on construction sites, or pick up garbage and waste to make a living. Today, my mother said something on the phone that sounded quite uncomfortable. An elderly woman in her 90s, whose daughter recruited a son-in-law at home, was unexpectedly taken away by the son-in-law while eating. The elderly have no choice but to live alone, picking up waste and selling it on the streets every day to make a living. If this elderly person has a monthly pension of over a thousand yuan, her treatment with her daughter and son-in-law may be a different story. Some people say that a rural elderly person living is a burden for their children, while a city elderly person living is a blessing for their children. There are over 120 million farmers aged 60 and above in China. If the government can solve the elderly care problem from a financial perspective, it will indirectly reduce the economic burden of their children's elderly care, promote consumption, and stimulate domestic demand.
