[AI Startup Nexthop AI Raises $500 Million in Funding, Led by Lightspeed Venture] BlockBeats News, March 11: According to Bloomberg, AI infrastructure startup Nexthop AI has raised $500 million in a funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, marking part of the current investment wave aimed at expanding AI computing capabilities. The company, which provides network hardware and software for AI data centers, reached a valuation of $4.2 billion following this round of funding. Andreessen Horowitz also participated in the round, along with all of the company’s existing investors, including Altimeter Capital and Kleiner Perkins. Nexthop was founded in 2024 by Anshul Sadana, the former Chief Operating Officer of Arista Networks Inc. The company is developing networking systems for connections within and between data centers. Sadana stated that their technological goal is to handle more network traffic with lower power consumption and achieve lower latency. The company is currently working with major data center operators to develop these networking systems to better meet their needs.
