[NVIDIA Increases Investment in Thinking Machines, Will Provide AI Chip Support]
BlockBeats News, March 10: NVIDIA (NVDA.O) is making a new round of investment in the artificial intelligence company Thinking Machines Lab and will provide chips to help train and run the startup's AI models. The company was founded by former OpenAI executive Mira Murati.
In a statement, Thinking Machines said that under a multi-year agreement, the company will use NVIDIA's upcoming Vera Rubin AI accelerator. These chips are expected to be deployed early next year, providing Thinking Machines with at least 1 gigawatt of computing power.
NVIDIA did not disclose the specific terms of the deal, nor did it specify whether the investment would be in the form of cash, chips, or a combination of both. The two companies only described it as a "significant" investment. (Jin10)
