Trust Wallet Launches Automatic Address Poisoning Protection Feature, Covering 32 EVM Chains

According to The Block, the decentralized wallet Trust Wallet has introduced an automatic Address Poisoning Protection feature to combat the increasingly common "address poisoning" scams. This feature will initially support 32 EVM public chains on mobile devices. By scanning user transactions, comparing addresses, and generating differential comparisons, it automatically alerts users to incorrect addresses when copying or entering recipient addresses. Trust Wallet stated that this tool integrates intelligence from HashDit and Binance Security to identify counterfeit addresses, supplementing its transaction-level risk scanning tool launched in 2023. Security company Cyvers reported that over 1 million address poisoning "preparatory operations" are detected daily on Ethereum, with Trust estimating approximately 34,000 attacks per hour, involving around 17 million potential victims.
