How much are the six words' anonymous source 'worth? When you see 'according to insiders', your money is being sucked away by this low-cost narrative. Truth has a cost, lies have no cost.
This is how the market is manipulated.
The cost of an anonymous quote: zero. A former employee's' disclosure 'does not require evidence. An insider's accusation does not require corroboration. The media likes this type of material the most - it has low cost, high traffic, and easy exemption from liability.
The collapse caused by "anonymous news" in history: During the 2022 Terra crash, "insiders" said there was a risk of UST losing its anchor, which was amplified by the media. Retail investors panicked and sold, while institutions quietly took over. In the "Binance Crisis" of 2023, "sources" reported that the SEC was about to sue, causing BTC to plummet by 30%. The lawsuit did come, but the price had already rebounded.
It is precisely this pattern of 'anonymous message=legitimate manipulation' that is the most terrifying. Retail investors see 'according to reports', while institutions see' time difference '. When you cut your flesh in panic, the person who wrote the article has long forgotten about it.
The truly valuable signals: court case number, SEC filing date, and on chain whale address movement. Big capital uses word by word complaints for homework, not financial headlines that can be scanned in five minutes.
In this era of free information but expensive truth, the most dangerous thing is not not not not knowing, but thinking that you know. Position management is always more reliable than following insider information.
