[Financial and Insurance Job Vacancy Rate Drops to 1.9%, Hitting a Ten-Year Low] Odaily Planet Daily reports that The Kobeissi Letter posted on the X platform stating that job vacancies in the financial and insurance sectors fell by 117,000 in December to 134,000, marking the lowest level since February 2012. The total number of vacancies in this sector has dropped by 410,000 from its peak in 2022, a decline of 75%. The vacancy rate has fallen to 1.9%, meaning fewer than 2 out of every 100 positions are vacant, the lowest since February 2010, and excluding the 2009-2010 low point, the lowest of this century. Compared to the largest single-month drop of 125,000 during the 2008 financial crisis, this decline is even greater. The financial industry is facing further layoffs.
