Last night, I was already in bed, but suddenly saw a tweet pop up from Kas Fun—mainnet is live! I bought some $KAS as gas a few days ago and spent the day figuring out how to bridge over. The bridging process really tested my patience, but I managed to bridge 18u successfully. However, when the mainnet launched, you couldn’t use $USDT to buy, only $KAS. Here’s the current situation:
1. Cross-chain is a bit complicated—you need to withdraw from the exchange to Layer 1, then bridge from Layer 1 to Layer 2.
2. Projects are starting to launch one after another; one of them has already launched.
3. Right now, you can only use $KAS for trading within the internal market, but for the launched project, you can trade with $USDT and $USDC.
4. There’s no place to check the charts—after launch, you can’t see the price anywhere. You can only check your balance in the swap to know if you’ve made or lost money.
5. Even though it’s a completely cold start, there are still people keeping a close eye on it, which shows that the Kaspa community is pretty active.
6. Trading and everything feels smooth, probably because there aren’t too many people yet.
Yesterday, I aped into a bunch of stuff, but almost nothing worked out—except for the one project that launched, which is somehow still profitable. I’m not going to ape into random stuff anymore; I’ll wait and see if anything promising comes up.
