**[Palo Alto Networks Founder Establishes AI Security Company Cylake, Raises $45 Million in Seed Round]** Golden Finance reports that Nir Zuk, founder of Palo Alto Networks, has announced the establishment of the cybersecurity company Cylake, which has completed a $45 million seed round led by Greylock Partners. Zuk founded Palo Alto Networks in 2005 and served as CTO for over 20 years, leaving the company in August 2024. The two co-founders are Wilson Xu, former head of engineering at Palo Alto Networks, and Ehud Shamir, co-founder of SentinelOne. Cylake positions itself as an AI-native, data-driven security platform with a key differentiator: it does not rely on public cloud infrastructure. All security data and analytics are processed locally within the customer’s own environment, targeting large institutions unable to use public cloud due to regulatory or national security requirements. The platform collects telemetry data from network infrastructure, endpoints, cloud workloads, and security tools, consolidates it into a unified data layer, and runs machine learning models and automated analysis locally. Greylock partner Asheem Chandna stated, "The next generation of cybersecurity will be AI-native, agent-driven, and built on global data and context." The product is expected to launch in early 2027 and is currently being co-developed with select design partners.
