Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim's proposal to include Bitcoin as a reserve asset for the city was blocked because the Vancouver Charter and British Columbia laws prohibit local governments from investing reserve funds in cryptocurrencies, making the proposal unable to move forward. However, Vancouver may still accept BTC for tax or fee payments in the future, provided it is immediately converted to Canadian dollars upon receipt. (CoinDesk)
