What’s the background of ICE investing in OKX? I looked into it last night. You might not be familiar with ICE, but it’s the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and one of the world’s largest financial infrastructure operators. ICE’s founder, Jeffrey Sprecher, is the chairman of NYSE, and his wife served in Trump’s cabinet. ICE invested in OKX and even secured a seat on the board. Although the exact amount hasn’t been disclosed, the collaboration terms are public. OKX is required to provide ICE with real-time crypto quotes, while ICE will enable OKX users to trade tokenized NYSE stocks and derivatives, expected to launch in the second half of 2026. On top of that, a few months ago, ICE invested in Polymarket at an $8 billion valuation, making it the largest data distributor for prediction markets globally. ICE’s ambition seems to be building a blockchain settlement platform. After all, NYSE was founded in 1792, and it doesn’t want to be left behind in this wave.
