**[Google Warning: New iPhone Exploit Kit Used for Cryptocurrency Theft]**
BlockBeats reported on March 5, citing Cointelegraph, that Google's Threat Analysis Group recently disclosed a new iOS exploit kit named "Coruna." This kit is being used to target iPhone users in cryptocurrency theft attacks. The kit primarily targets devices running iOS versions 13.0 to 17.2.1 and includes 23 exploit programs and 5 complete attack chains, some of which involve previously unknown vulnerabilities. It can carry out attacks via fake cryptocurrency-related websites, such as phishing sites impersonating the WEEX exchange.
Reportedly, when users access these malicious websites using vulnerable iOS devices, the attack code automatically executes, scanning sensitive information on the device, particularly text containing keywords like mnemonic phrases, backup phrases, and bank account details. It also attempts to steal assets from cryptocurrency applications such as Uniswap and MetaMask.
Google researchers strongly recommend that iPhone users immediately update their devices to the latest iOS version. If updating is not possible, users should enable Apple's "Lockdown Mode" to enhance protection.
