[Spanish Police Dismantle Illegal Bitcoin Mining Farm, Stolen Electricity Worth Over €860,000]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports, on March 5, according to CriptoNoticias, the Catalonia police in Spain recently dismantled an illegal Bitcoin mining farm located in the industrial area of Sant Vicenç de Castellet, Barcelona. According to estimates by the national electricity company Endesa, the mining farm illegally obtained electricity by directly connecting to the high-voltage power grid, with a value of up to €860,643, marking the largest industrial-scale electricity theft case in the region over the past year. During a raid on February 26, police seized 88 Bitcoin mining devices. Investigations revealed that the mining farm had been operating illegally since October 2025. It lacked electricity meters and protection systems, and its hazardous three-phase connection method posed a serious fire risk, threatening the stability of power supply to surrounding businesses. A 34-year-old Asian man, identified as the main suspect in the case, appeared in court in Manresa on March 3 and is currently facing charges of electricity theft.
