**[Morgan Stanley Selects BNY Mellon and Coinbase as Custodians for Bitcoin ETF]** BlockBeats News, March 5, according to Decrypt, Morgan Stanley stated in a revised S-1 registration document submitted on Wednesday that it plans to arrange Bitcoin custody services for its proposed Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust. The custodians will include BNY Mellon and Coinbase Custody Trust Company. This arrangement is similar to existing Bitcoin ETFs, such as BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust. IBIT initially relied solely on Coinbase for Bitcoin custody services but added Anchorage Digital as a second custodian in April 2025. BlackRock's Bitcoin fund also uses BNY Mellon as its cash custodian and administrative manager. The Wall Street giant first submitted its S-1 registration document for a spot Bitcoin ETF back in January. It has since applied to register Ethereum and Solana ETFs as well. At the time, the company did not disclose which custodians it planned to select for its Bitcoin fund.
