[Zerohash Applies for National Trust Bank Charter from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC)] According to a report by Jinse Finance, following other digital asset companies seeking national trust bank charters, crypto infrastructure company Zerohash has submitted an application to the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). According to documents from the OCC, Zerohash's national trust bank aims to provide digital asset services, such as 'custody of digital assets, fiat currencies, and other assets; custodial staking and validation activities; transfer agent services; trade execution; stablecoin management; as well as settlement, clearing, and custody services.' Zerohash's Chief Legal Officer, Stephen Gardner, has been proposed to serve as the CEO of the trust bank. Previously, several cryptocurrency companies, including Ripple, Circle, and BitGo, also sought to establish federally regulated trust banks, with these companies receiving conditional approval from the OCC in December.
