🇪🇺EU SET TO AVOID US TARIFF HIKE
The European Union expects to avoid a planned U.S. tariff increase to 15%, with assurances that the current 10% rate will remain on its exports.
The potential hike was flagged by Scott Bessent, but hasn’t been implemented. A broader EU-U.S. trade deal proposing 15% tariffs is still awaiting approval.
Bottom line: tariffs stay lower for now, though some EU goods could still face higher effective rates under existing rules.(*Walter Bloomberg)
