[Paraguay's National Electricity Administration Plans to Launch Government-Led Bitcoin Mining Project Using Seized Mining Machines]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Paraguay's National Electricity Administration (ANDE) has signed a memorandum of understanding with crypto infrastructure company Morphware to launch the country's first government-led Bitcoin mining pilot project using Bitcoin mining machines seized by law enforcement. In the initial phase, approximately 1,500 confiscated mining machines will be deployed, utilizing the country's surplus hydropower resources for compliant mining. According to the plan, ANDE will be responsible for ownership and regulation of the mining facilities, while Morphware will provide technical and operational support. As for the mined Bitcoin, the government is discussing whether to sell it for public expenditures or hedge risks through financial instruments while retaining a portion of the assets.
