[The U.S. government transfers approximately $23,000 worth of Bitcoin from the 'Villanueva' seized wallet]
According to The Block, on-chain data shows that the U.S. government transferred approximately 0.3346 BTC, worth about $23,000, from a wallet labeled as seized funds associated with 'Miguel Villanueva.' The funds were sent in three transactions to three different addresses, after which the wallet balance was emptied. Currently, the U.S. government holds approximately 328,000 BTC, valued at over $22 billion. This transfer occurred as the Treasury Secretary stated that the government’s approach is to stop selling seized Bitcoin and instead incorporate these confiscated assets into digital asset reserves.
