[U.S. SEC Halts New Round of High-Leverage ETF Plans]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) held a rare group meeting on Monday, requesting leveraged ETF issuers to suspend the advancement of a new round of fund plans, once again imposing restrictions on increasingly aggressive fund product structures.
According to six informed sources, the SEC's Division of Investment Management made the request during a brief call with independent trustees and fund legal advisors. Participants stated that the call lasted only a few minutes and did not include a Q&A session.
They indicated that the SEC's core intention was to inform issuers that they are not allowed to proceed with launching their proposed products—specifically, the critical step of completing fund registration and officially issuing the products.
