[A16z Upgrades Jolt zkVM, Targeting the Overgeneralization of the 'ZK' Concept]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, A16z Crypto pointed out in its latest blog that many current zkVMs do not truly achieve zero-knowledge privacy but only possess 'succinctness' (short proofs, easy verification), leading to the overgeneralized use of the 'ZK' label.
On the same day, A16z introduced the NovaBlindFold folding scheme to the open-source Jolt zkVM, enabling native zero-knowledge support to prevent information leakage, making it suitable for privacy scenarios. After the upgrade, the generated proofs are only about 3KB larger than the original non-zero-knowledge version.
