[South Korea Experiences Crypto-Funded 'Revenge Attacks,' Suspects Paid $300-$600] Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on March 3, according to DL News, South Korean police are investigating a series of 'revenge attack' cases funded by cryptocurrency. Suspects received payments of $300-$600 in cryptocurrency from anonymous employers via Telegram to vandalize and defame targeted residences. In a recent case in Hwaseong City, a suspect in their 20s, Lim, used red paint to graffiti the victim's front door, scattered food waste, and smeared human excrement in the stairwell. South Korean police believe a group calling itself a 'private revenge organization' is active on Korean-language Telegram channels. Similar phenomena have been observed in Russia, where intermediaries offer customized revenge services via cryptocurrency and Telegram, charging up to $1,500. Bitcoin ($BTC) and other cryptocurrencies are primarily used for transactions to maintain anonymity.
