[Japan Financial Services Agency May Investigate the Compliance of 'SANAE TOKEN' Issuance]
March 3 news: The Japan Financial Services Agency (FSA) is reportedly considering investigating whether the operators related to 'SANAE TOKEN' have violated Japan's Payment Services Act. According to regulations, issuing virtual currencies requires obtaining a cryptocurrency exchange business registration license. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the companies involved in the issuance of this token have completed registration.
'SANAE TOKEN' was announced for issuance on February 25 by the official account of the YouTube channel 'NoBorder' and is described as an incentive token for a project aimed at updating the democratic system. The issuer claims to have completed legal arrangements, but the use of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's name and illustrations on the website, along with implications of her endorsement, has sparked criticism.
Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi denied any connection to the token on social media platform X on March 2, and the Prime Minister's Office also stated that no approval had been granted.
