[Iran's Largest Exchange Sees 700% Surge in Crypto Outflows Following U.S.-Israel Airstrikes]
Odaily Planet Daily reports, according to monitoring by Elliptic, within minutes of the first round of U.S.-Israel airstrikes on Tehran, crypto outflow transactions on Iran's largest exchange, Nobitex, surged by 700%. Elliptic stated that Nobitex processed $7.2 billion in cryptocurrency transactions in 2025 and has over 11 million users. Fund flows indicate that cryptocurrencies were sent to overseas exchanges, potentially representing capital outflows to evade the traditional banking system. Additionally, Elliptic had monitored a peak in outflows on January 9 due to protests and internet shutdowns. Following the airstrikes, Bitcoin briefly dropped below $64,000 before rebounding to around $65,500, while Ethereum fell to around $1,930.
