[Developers Bypass Taproot and Other Methods to Embed Images on the Bitcoin Blockchain, Challenging BIP-110 Data Limit Logic]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, Slovak Bitcoin developer and Rust Bitcoin library maintainer Martin Habovštiak has released a proof of concept demonstrating the embedding of a 66kB TIFF image file directly onto the Bitcoin blockchain through a single transaction, without using OP_RETURN, Taproot, or OP_IF. This transaction can be publicly verified on-chain and decoded into a complete image file.
This experiment is seen as a direct challenge to the 'anti-spam' soft fork proposal BIP-110, promoted by Luke Dashjr. The proposal (formerly known as BIP-444) aims to limit the scale of on-chain data storage, with supporters arguing that such data storage behavior deviates from Bitcoin's core positioning as 'money.'
