[Sam Altman: OpenAI to Collaborate with U.S. 'Department of War' to Deploy Models on Classified Networks]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman stated on X that the company has reached an agreement with the U.S. Department of War to deploy OpenAI models within its classified network environment. According to the terms of the agreement, the models are prohibited from being used in large-scale domestic surveillance scenarios, and it is emphasized that any applications involving the use of force (including potential autonomous weapon systems) must adhere to the principle of 'human accountability.'
OpenAI stated that it will implement technical safety measures for this deployment, with the models operating solely within cloud-based networks, and will dispatch Field Deployment Engineers (FDE) to ensure the security of the models. OpenAI also mentioned that it has urged the relevant departments to offer the same terms to other artificial intelligence companies in order to reduce legal and regulatory disputes through agreements.
