Aave controversy continues: Labs makes concessions and does not force migration, leading vote on $342 million funding proposal According to Golden Finance, AaveDAO is currently voting on a major proposal that will allocate up to $42 million to Aave Labs, including $25 million for ongoing product development and $17.5 million in milestone bonuses. As of Friday evening, the support vote is leading by a narrow margin of 52%, and the voting will end on Saturday. The focus of controversy lies in Aave Labs' original plan to compress the development space of v3 and force users to migrate to the v4 version that has not yet been launched. This move has sparked a strong backlash, with the main contractor Bored Ghosts Development announcing that it will not renew its contract and criticizing the proposal as almost absurd. This week, Aave Labs made concessions and promised not to force migration, and v3 will continue to operate. Critic representative Marc Zeller believes that the requested funds are too high, accounting for 31% of DAO reserves, and demands that the proposal be split into multiple independent votes, but AaveLabs insists on advancing the overall vote. At present, the deposit size of Aavev3 exceeds 26.3 billion US dollars, accounting for over 97% of the total agreement deposits.
