[Coinbase to Support Sei's Migration to EVM-Only Architecture, SEI Deposits and Withdrawals to Be Suspended During the Transition] Coinbase announced on the X platform that Sei plans to discontinue support for Cosmos-based transactions and transition to an EVM-only architecture. Coinbase will support the migration to Sei EVM from April 6 to April 8, 2026. During the migration period, sending and receiving Sei (SEI) will be temporarily disabled, and users are advised not to deposit or transfer SEI during this time. Users' tokens will be converted at a 1:1 ratio without any conversion fees. If users wish to opt out of the automatic conversion, they must transfer SEI to a compatible self-custody wallet before April 6, 2026. After the migration is complete, users will only be able to withdraw SEI to EVM-compatible addresses (0x format) and deposit SEI from EVM-compatible wallets. Coinbase will no longer support SEI deposits to bech32 (Cosmos) deposit addresses.
