During a hearing at the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren questioned the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) Jonathan Gould, urging the suspension or rejection of the national trust bank license application from Trump-linked crypto company World Liberty Financial (WLFI), citing its $500 million stake from the UAE and potential conflicts of interest. Warren stated that Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan's affiliated company Aryam Investment 1 acquired a 49% stake in WLFI before Trump took office, with part of the funds flowing to the Trump family and related entities. Gould responded that the application would be processed according to standard procedures and noted that he had not faced political pressure aside from Warren. (Decrypt)
