Even while in jail, still thinking about the future of cryptocurrency.
The biggest question in the crypto space:
Will AI use it?
Imagine an instance of ChatGPT or Claude needing more computational resources.
Would it support wire transfers, credit cards, or crypto payments?
On one hand, traditional financial systems don’t really work for AI.
For example—how would they do KYC verification? They don’t have passports, addresses, social security numbers, or even names.
Crypto works much better—it’s inherently digital, permissionless, and AI can already query the blockchain, etc.
On the other hand, we might see a ‘proxy’ model emerge:
Each AI is treated as a proxy for a specific human, and that human is responsible for KYC verification, accountable for the AI’s actions, etc.
(This raises a related question: who should bear legal responsibility for AI’s actions?)
Either way, integrating AI into transactions and payments will require some work. This work will either be natively digital and crypto-based, or it will rely on human ‘operators’ to control the AI.
Its direction will have a huge impact on the world.
One of those impacts is the future of cryptocurrency.
