tech companies lay people off, revenue and profit go up, then they lay off more. cut 40% today, another 40% tomorrow. this becomes the new normal, a rising spiral. i believe microsoft could cut 80% of its workforce right now and still keep running. they have compute, they have data. what they really need to fix is their core AI model.(Yishi)
