[IoTeX Proposes 100% User Compensation Plan for ioTube Hack Incident: Immediate Compensation for Users with $10,000 or Less]
The IoTeX Foundation has announced the latest updates on the February 21 ioTube cross-chain bridge security incident, along with a full compensation plan. The team stated that they have completed a full-chain trace of the stolen funds, with most of the CIOTX frozen on-chain. The remaining assets have primarily been converted into approximately 2,183 ETH and bridged to the Bitcoin network, with the related BTC addresses currently under monitoring.
The foundation has committed to providing 100% compensation to all users who held USDC, USDT, ETH, or WBTC bridged from Ethereum to IoTeX at the time of the incident. Users with losses of $10,000 or less can receive full compensation in a single payment. For users with losses exceeding $10,000, the first $10,000 will be compensated immediately, while the remaining amount will be distributed over four quarters. Additionally, users will receive an extra 10% compensation in the form of IOTX staked for 12 months.
The platform will open the official recovery address and Claims Portal on February 27. Users will need to consolidate the affected assets, transfer them in a single transaction, and submit the on-chain transaction details to complete the verification and compensation process.
