Kalshi reveals two insider trading cases: Governor candidate + MrBeast-related editor Prediction market platform @Kalshi announced that over the past year, it has initiated around 200 investigations, frozen multiple suspicious accounts, and disclosed two concluded insider trading violations: The first case involves a California governor candidate who traded approximately $200 on their own election prospects and posted about it on social media. They were banned for 5 years and fined an amount equivalent to 10 times the initial trade value. The second case pertains to a YouTube creator-related market, where an insider traded around $4,000. The monitoring system flagged the trades due to "near-perfect win rates" on low-probability contracts. It was later confirmed that the individual was a show editing employee suspected of accessing significant non-public information. They were suspended for 2 years and fined an amount equivalent to 5 times the initial trade value (recovery of $5,397.58 + fine of $15,000). Both cases have been reported to the CFTC as required.
