[UBS Wealth Management Americas Chief Investment Officer Suggests: Shift from Tech to Physical Assets Amid AI Boom]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, Ulrike Hoffmann-Burchardi, Chief Investment Officer of UBS Wealth Management Americas and Global Head of Equities, stated that the threat posed by artificial intelligence to software-based companies should prompt investors to shift their focus from tech companies to those deeply rooted in physical industries, such as mining companies, power producers, and industrial enterprises. Speaking on Tuesday during a financial industry conference in Miami Beach, she mentioned that her team is working on transitioning their investment portfolio from focusing on the 'digital economy' to the 'physical economy.' This entails buying stocks of equipment manufacturers, power generation companies, and resource-based mining firms—businesses that build the physical infrastructure underpinning the modern economy.
