🚨 Hot take: Most altcoins will never reach their all time highs again.
Not because crypto is dead.
But because the market has fundamentally changed.
Here’s the truth most people don’t want to hear:
In every cycle, thousands of altcoins are created.
But only a small percentage survive long term.
The rest slowly fade into irrelevance.
This cycle is no different.
During bull markets, altcoins pump because of liquidity, hype, and speculation. Not because of real usage.
Money flows easily. Retail enters aggressively. Everything goes up.
But when liquidity disappears, reality hits.
Weak projects stop building. Teams lose funding. Attention moves elsewhere.
And attention is everything in crypto.
Capital doesn’t rotate back into old narratives. It rotates into new ones.
Last cycle it was ICOs. Then DeFi. Then NFTs.
Now it’s AI, infrastructure, and real world assets.
Most older altcoins don’t fit the new narrative anymore.
Another reason is supply.
Many altcoins unlock massive amounts of tokens over time. Even if demand stays the same, increasing supply suppresses price.
Price doesn’t just need buyers. It needs more buyers than sellers.
And most altcoins lose buyer interest permanently after their first cycle.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin keeps absorbing more liquidity.
Institutions, ETFs, and large capital prefer BTC because it’s safer and more trusted.
This leaves less capital flowing into smaller altcoins.
This creates a simple reality:
The winners of the next cycle will not be most altcoins.
They will be a small number of strong projects with real adoption, strong narratives, and sustained attention.
This is why holding everything and hoping rarely works.
Cycles reward positioning, not loyalty.
The biggest gains don’t come from holding old narratives.
They come from identifying new ones early.
Most altcoins already peaked.
A few haven’t yet.
Knowing the difference changes everything.(Cyril-DeFi)
