[Federal Reserve Governor Waller: The Fed is cautiously advancing the full-system application of AI technology]
Odaily Planet Daily News – Federal Reserve Governor Waller stated that the Fed is cautiously advancing the adoption of artificial intelligence technology in a system-wide manner. Waller said at a conference held by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston: 'We cannot take AI lightly, and as a central bank, we hold ourselves to high standards when using this technology.' He emphasized that for the Fed's use of AI, 'it means setting clear limits on its usage and application areas, implementing robust information security controls, strict model validation, human accountability for decision-making, and continuous evaluation as technology evolves. Innovation and risk management are parallel and complementary priorities.' Despite being a highly decentralized organization, the Fed is adopting a more unified approach to implementing AI technology. Waller did not comment on the outlook for the economy or monetary policy in his prepared remarks. (Jin10)
