Dutch International: If the Governor of the Bank of England hints at a rate cut in March, the pound may fall. According to Golden Jubilee Data on February 24th, Chris Turner, an analyst at Dutch International Bank, said that if the Bank of England's Governor, Amber, raises his expectations for further rate cuts in tonight's testimony (possibly as early as March), the pound may fall. Bailey will deliver a speech to the Special Committee of the Ministry of Finance at 22:15 Beijing time tonight. Bailey is highly likely to push the March policy meeting towards a rate cut. If Bailey makes a statement with sufficient evidence to prove that a rate cut should be made in March, it may consolidate the pricing of interest rates in the money market (currently the market expects an 80% probability of a 25 basis point rate cut in March), and even drive market bets that the Bank of England will cut interest rates by more than 50 basis points this year.
