Thinking about it now, stablecoins are actually pretty fragile. Even something like USD1, which claims to have hundreds of millions in reserves and a strong backing, can get depegged. In a bear market, we really need to keep an eye on all these new stablecoins popping up. And these hackers these days? They don’t even care about presidential connections. Yesterday, I was lying in bed taking a nap when suddenly all the groups I’m in started sharing a screenshot. It showed Eric Trump deleting a tweet about USD1. Everyone in the groups was panicking. At the same time, I opened the charts and saw that USD1 had been slammed with a huge wick, briefly “depegging.” Later, WLFI issued an official statement saying they were hit by a coordinated attack. But the craziest part of this whole thing is that the hackers didn’t directly attack the contract. Instead, they hacked the founder’s X account, used the official identity to spread fake news, pump the coin, and even paid a bunch of influencers to stir things up. Looks like hacking social media is still easier than hacking contracts… Even though we’re not celebrities, remember to enable Google 2FA on your Twitter account…
