Haven’t made any money in the past two months. Tried to catch the bottom on $ETH and made a little on the rebound, but it all went to cover losses from altcoins. This really broke my perception. Before, when it dropped this much, there would always be a rebound. Looking back now, feels like hindsight wisdom, but I kind of get it. One good thing about me though, is that when I lose money, I don’t lose my cool. I don’t blindly average down. I take a step back and think about why I lost. If I lose, there’s definitely a reason—it’s because my understanding of the market at the time was wrong. Take small coins for example. I made a lot before, but recently gave some of it back. I used to buy 2-3m overall. Recently, my total small coin holdings haven’t exceeded $500k. But even so, you can’t handle a 50% drop, average down, and then another 50% drop. In my view, some small coins are controlled by whales. They can only exit during an uptrend. If they don’t pump, they’ll lose money. Thinking back now, yeah, they did pump. But it was just a final 30%-50% pump. Then the whales didn’t even make money, maybe even lost some, and decided to leave the crypto space altogether, not wanting to waste more funds and time. And here I am, left shivering in the cold wind. So yeah, there’s a reason for losing money. I’m not averaging down anymore. Anyway, the position isn’t big. Maybe one day liquidity will return, and someone will start playing the slot machine again.
