[JPMorgan Admits to Closing Trump's Accounts After Capitol Hill Riot]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, there has been new progress in the lawsuit filed by former U.S. President Donald Trump against JPMorgan Chase Bank. As reported by the Associated Press on the 21st, JPMorgan Chase admitted that after the Capitol Hill riot on January 6, 2021, the major U.S. bank closed the bank accounts of President Trump and several businesses under his name.
Dan Wilkening, JPMorgan's former Chief Administrative Officer, wrote in a court document submitted this week: 'In February 2021, JPMorgan notified the plaintiffs that certain accounts held at JPMorgan Private Bank and Commercial Bank would be closed.'
According to the Associated Press, this is the first time JPMorgan has acknowledged in writing that it closed Trump's accounts following the Capitol Hill riot. A spokesperson for Trump's legal team described the disclosure as 'a shocking concession.'
