**[Vitalik: Personal LLMs Can Address Attention Issues in Decentralized Governance]** BlockBeats News, February 21, Ethereum founder Vitalik stated that AI governance is dystopian: weak AI leads to chaos, while strong AI results in catastrophic consequences. However, if AI is used properly, it can empower humans and promote the development of decentralized governance models. The core issue of decentralized governance models (including DAOs on Ethereum) lies in the limitations of human attention: thousands of decisions need to be made across numerous specialized fields, yet most people neither have the time nor the ability to become experts in any one of these fields, let alone master all of them. The usual solution is delegation, but this weakens power. Personal LLMs can be used to address attention issues in the following ways: **Personal Governance Agents:** If governance mechanisms require users to make numerous decisions, personal agents can infer preferences from personal writings, conversation records, direct statements, and more, and vote on behalf of users for all necessary decisions. **Public Dialogue Agents:** Making good decisions often cannot rely solely on a linear process, such as collecting opinions based on individuals' information and averaging them (even quadratic averaging). A process is needed to aggregate information from many users and then allow everyone (or their LLMs) to respond based on this information. **Prediction Markets:** If governance mechanisms value any type of "high-quality input" (whether proposals or arguments), a prediction market can be established. Anyone can submit inputs, and AI can bet on tokens representing those inputs. If the mechanism "accepts" the input, token holders will be paid X dollars.
