[EU Lawmakers to Hold Meeting on US-EU Trade Agreement Next Monday Following Trump Tariff Ruling] Jin10 News, February 21 – After the U.S. Supreme Court ruled parts of President Trump's global tariffs invalid, EU lawmakers will hold an emergency meeting next Monday to reassess the trade agreement between the EU and the U.S. The European Parliament's Trade Committee had originally planned to vote on Tuesday to advance the approval process of the US-EU agreement. Previously, EU lawmakers had frozen the approval process after Trump's threat to annex Greenland. 'The Supreme Court's decision was expected,' said Bernd Lange, Chair of the Trade Committee. 'The legal basis for these unreasonable tariffs was incorrect.' Lange stated that they must now carefully evaluate the ruling and assess its potential impact on the ongoing agreement approval process. 'The judges have shown that even the U.S. president does not operate in a legal vacuum,' Lange said.
