BGD Labs stated that it is notifying the community in advance to ensure a smooth transition and emphasized that it will continue to fulfill its existing responsibilities before the contract expires. These responsibilities include work on Aave v3, Umbrella, chain expansion, asset onboarding, and security. BGD Labs also mentioned plans to release documentation and maintenance guides to assist other contributors in taking over its projects. BGD Labs noted that its departure reflects broader changes in Aave's organizational and governance environment, particularly as the original startup that built the protocol, Aave Labs, shifts to play a more central role in the development of Aave v4 and other initiatives.
