This is a weird design quirk of Ethereum, but this number is wrong because the deposit contract's balance doesn't decrease when ETH is unstaked. The 80.95M ETH number used in the post is the total ETH that's ever been staked (minus rewards). Current stake is ~37M ETH.(timbeiko.eth)
